Powerful
& highly efficient, our new High Voltage Power Supply cranks
out over 60,000 volts (60 Kv) for all your High Voltage projects.
Perfect
for powering a wide variety of high energy & fascinating
experiments such as homemade X-ray tubes, table-top particle
accelerators, electrostatic 'antigravity' levitating devices,
ion engines, energize geissler discharge tubes, etc.
This is an all electronic/solid-state
power supply that outputs high voltage (unfiltered) DC from about
10Kv to over 60 Kv in 10Kv increments. Output
current is approximately 2 mA.
Simply connecting the leads of this unit to one of our X-Ray
Receiving tubes will produce about
2 mR of X-Ray radiation with less than 30Kv applied.
Using our Vacuum Pump and a glass pipe or tube, all sorts of
electrical discharge experiments can be performed... duplicating
the "cathode ray" experiments that William Crookes
conducted in the late 1800s & early 1900s.

William
Crookes "Maltese Cross" experiment. High
voltage was applied to an electrode at one end of an
evacuated tube and a thin metal cross suspended near the
far end. The metal cross stopped the flow of electrons
and produced a glowing image of it on the
face of the glass tube. Note the ancient High Voltage
"vibrator-type" power supply he used. |

Electrical
plasma discharge in an evacuated tube with a small
amount of Hydrogen gas introduced. Placing a magnet
alongside the tube demonstrates how the glowing electron
beam can be deflected by a magnetic field.
These experiments (and countless
others) are easily duplicated using this power supply. |
