Generic Uranium Ore
Radiation Range 'A' (1,500 to 3,000 CPM)
typical generic Uranium Ore samples
Generic Uranium Ore samples in the safe 1,000 to 3,000 CPM radiation range are ideal for beginning collectors or as an inexpensive radiation source. Our generic samples are usually plain and unremarkable with few or no unique features - unlike our individually priced samples. Generic samples are useful as inexpensive radiation sources and for chemical extraction/analysis. They typically measure anywhere from about 2" across to 3.5" across. Samples can contain one or more of the following Uranium minerals: Carnotite (bright yellow), Uraninite (black crystal), Pitchblende (jet black), Uranophane (canary yellow), Gummite (rust brown), Tyuyamunite (pale green), Schroeckingerite (greenish-yellow) Uranium Ores.
Although they are safe to handle with your hands, it is prudent to wash your hands after handling the samples to prevent ingesting radioactive chips or fine particles that may fall off of the rocks.
As with all our Uranium ore samples, a certificate
stating your sample's precise radiation
measurement & associated information is included with your purchase.
Like all radioactive samples sold by United Nuclear, the radiation levels measured are
combined Beta and Gamma radiation.
We never include Alpha radiation measurements as that produces a deceivingly high reading.
