Jet Engine Plans, Kits & Parts

We have discontinued our old Jet Engine design & plans as seen above.
A new TURBINE design will be released shortly....
Easier to build, and a variable thrust of up to 300 pounds!

NOTE:
We apologize for the extended delay, but we want to build
several of these units (and fully test them) directly from our plans - before we offer them for sale.
These plans, Kits & Components were supposed to be ready quite a while ago, but we simply haven't had the time available to build a stock of parts and print plans... not to mention assemble the engines and fully test them. Please stay tuned, we're working as fast as we can to get these ready.

Jet Engine Plans

Complete step-by-step plans for constructing our J-101 Turbojet engine.

A fantastic student project that yields an engine that can power just about anything from Go-Karts to small aircraft. Fun and educational, you won't forget the awesome & rewarding feeling you get when you fire this little monster up for the first time. Spools up and spins down sounding exactly like larger
military turbojet engines. Incredibly impressive and amazingly powerful for its size.

The heart of this jet engine is a truck turbocharger. Good quality used truck turbochargers can be purchased for about $100 to $200 from just about any auto wrecking yard or used automotive parts dealer.
If you don't want to go searching for yourself, we will be carrying both new & used turbochargers, specifically chosen for this jet engine. The turbocharger is the most expensive part of the engine and the remainder of the materials required to complete the engine are fairly inexpensive. Depending on your budget and application for the engine, you can upgrade the engine performance by afterburning it, or add on a multitude of additional features and capabilities.

You can build the entire jet engine from scratch (which requires welding and other basic metalwork), or you can pick & choose to buy individual pre-welded & formed components from us, making your kit easier and easier to build... to a point where you can just about bolt together your kit and fire it up.

J-101 Engine Parts

Engine components for our J-101 Turbojet Engine plans above.

Turbocharger NEW - 4": $TBD
Go first class and start your project with one of our brand new
5,900 CFM Turbochargers. It features a 4" diameter inducer that will produce approximately 300+ Lbs of thrust when used in our J-101 jet engine.  Cast iron turbine housing with Hastalloy turbine wheel / aluminum alloy compressor housing. Hydrostatic bearings require oil at 45 PSI to function properly.

Turbocharger USED - 4": $TBD
Used Turbochargers tested & in good working condition. 3" to 4" inducers with flow rates of 3,500 CFM to 5,900 CFM. Depending on the size of turbocharger used, they will produce from 150 Lbs to 300 Lbs of thrust when used in our J-101 jet engine. Prices and availability of models vary, so please email us for our current list of used turbochargers.

Fuel Injectors:
Stainless Steel with ceramic insert. Will withstand temperatures above 1800° F. Wide spray pattern optimized for Combustion Chamber dimensions. 2 different nozzles available: Standard Injector, which provides a good balance between fuel economy and power, and the High Performance Injector, which delivers the maximum possible power. We recommend the Standard Injector. 1/4" male pipe thread connection.
Standard Injector: $TBD
HP Injector: $TBD

Combustion Chamber - Complete: $TBD
Complete combustion with liner installed and all necessary fittings. No welding required. All Stainless Steel construction with
Heliarc welded seams and plasma cut holes in the liner.
Hole is pre-cut cut & threaded for Fuel Injector Nozzle. Complete with fittings for preheat fuel line connection. Top end has correct bolt pattern to attach to Turbine inlet, bottom end of chamber bolts on to Compressor Feed Pipe flange.

Combustion Chamber Shell: $TBD
Combustion Chamber outer shell. All Stainless Steel construction with Heliarc welded seams. Combustion Chamber Liner (below) fits inside and bolts to the bottom plate.

Combustion Chamber Liner: $TBD
Combustion chamber liner. All Stainless Steel construction, Heliarc welded seams and plasma cut holes. Hole is pre-cut and threaded in bottom for Fuel Injector Nozzle.

Oil Pump: $TBD
Provides vital oil pressure to the engine bearings. Adjustable from 5 to about 100 PSI.

Fuel Pump: $TBD
High pressure Fuel Pump to feed the Injector Spray Nozzle. This will produce sufficient fuel pressure to feed the main injector as well as an optional Afterburner.

Exhaust Nozzle: $TBD
A 17" long, tapered exhaust nozzle for our Turbojet engine. It will work with our Afterburner option and has brackets welded in place for the exhaust temperature thermocouple.

Compressor Feed Pipe: $TBD
Supplies compressed air to the Combustion Chamber. Installs between the compressor outlet on Turbocharger, and the Combustion Chamber inlet.

Exhaust Gas Temperature Kit: $TBD
Because of the temperature limitations of the turbine, it is critical that the temperature never exceeds 1,850°F on the turbine wheel itself. The EGT kit consists of a high temperature Thermocouple
and a digital temperature gauge to continuously monitor the temperature of the exhaust gases of your engine. We strongly recommend monitoring the EGT of your jet engine. All necessary wiring and brackets are included in this kit.

Pressure Gauge: $TBD
0 to 100 PSI pressure gauge, perfect for monitoring fuel or oil pressure. Available in rear mount, or bottom mount. Both have standard 1/4" male pipe thread connectors. Please specify if you'd like the connector on the rear or on the bottom.

Fuel / Oil Tank: $TBD
A

Ignition System - High Energy: $TBD
A high energy electronic ignition system that provides a high voltage & high current spark as long as the button is pressed. Powerful, reliable ignition every time. Requires 12 volts DC.

Ignition System - Basic: $TBD
A basic piezoelectric igniter. Similar to the 'snap' buttons on a home BBQ. Basically a spring loaded pushbutton with piezoelectric crystal inside. When pressed, the button makes a 'snap' sound and generates a single spark. Useful If weight and space are a concern. Requires no power to operate.

Throttle Valve: $TBD
Precision ball valve with a Stainless Steel ball and Teflon seat for reliable, trouble-free operation. Use for a main fuel throttle, or quick shut-off valve.

Solenoid Valve: $TBD
12 volt Solenoid Valve. Normally closed. When 12 volts DC is applied, the valve opens and permits liquid flow. Rated at 200 PSI, with standard 1/4" female pipe thread connections.

Complete Afterburner Kit: $TBD
Add the optional Afterburner kit to your jet engine and get 50% more thrust - and a 3 to 5 foot long tail fire out the exhaust. Afterburning substantially increases engine power, but fuel consumption is also increased by about 150%. Typically the afterburner solenoids are wired to a single pushbutton so it's off for normal use..., and at the push of a button, they click on and you've got instant additional power.
