This is the most popular size porcelain mortar and pestle.
Fabricated from "tough as nails" high quality porcelain, this set can take quite a bit of abuse.  It is 100mm (4"), glazed outside and rough inside for efficient grinding and features a footed bottom for stability and pouring lip. The pestle is oversized for hand comfort and is unglazed on the bottom. Rims and outside of mortars are glazed with non-lead based glaze. Our Vacuum Filtering Flask is basically a 500 ml Erlenmeyer Flask with a vacuum port on one side.
The port accepts hose with a 3/8" inside diameter.
Normally used for vacuum filtration (see our Vacuum Filtration kit below), but can also be used for a wide variety of other specialized applications. Made from high quality heat resistant Borosilicate glass.
The Vacuum Filtering Flask has a much heavier wall and rim than a standard Erlenmeyer flask making it extremely strong & durable. Uses a #7 Rubber Stopper.

This is both an excellent and affordable kit for vacuum filtration.
A specialized funnel with a flat, perforated bottom (known as a Buchner Funnel) is used with a Vacuum Filtering Flask and Vacuum Pump. Suction from the pump forces the liquid to be filtered through the filter paper. This dramatically speeds up filtration of solutions that can take hours to filter on their own.
Included in the kit is:

Acid or Alkali?
PH Test Paper is one of the most useful tools in a laboratory. This is wide range PH Test Paper (PH 1 - 14), ideal for just about any use from testing the acidity of soil to general chemistry uses.
Simply dip the paper strip in the solution to be tested and in seconds the paper will change color. Hold the strip up to the color chart on the vial and you'll instantly know the PH of the solution. PH paper is preferred by many chemists over expensive electronic PH meters that require frequent calibration and electrode replacement.

Used for separating liquids of different densities, the 'Sep Funnel' allows you to drain off the heavier, denser liquid from the bottom. Precision ground glass filling stopcock and valve.

Although most laboratory glassware is Pyrex, Bomex or similar heat resistant glass, none of them should ever be in direct contact with a flame. The only exception is a Test Tube and even that should be kept moving in & out of the flame. The proper way to heat materials in laboratory glassware (when using an open flame) is to place a Ceramic Center Wire Gauze between the flame and glassware.
Ours is an extra stout wire gauze with a fireproof ceramic center. The sides are turned in so no sharp edges protrude.
Recommended for all glassware.

We only recently started stocking these Butane Micro Burners and quite frankly, they are awesome.
Easily portable throughout the entire lab and no need to run gas lines. The Micro Burner is completely self-contained and has its own refillable Butane tank.
Fully adjustable flame control from 0 to 100% simply by rotating the knob as shown above. No matches or igniters required.... the convenient piezoelectric push button on the handle produces a high voltage spark which ignites the burner instantly. Large diameter base offers excellent stability and tip resistance.
Burns about 1.5 hours per fill. Height: 3.35". Produces a flame temperature well over 2,000°F.
Excellent for all lab work including bending, shaping & melting standard flint glass tubing.

We put Kerosene in the lamp to make flame bright & yellow so it would show up in the web page image.
